Touring

The NJCA is touring early next year, so stay tuned. This fabulous piece was the winner of the award. No shame in losing to Simon Cottrell. Phew!

NCJA

My work has been selected for the National Contemporary Jewellery Award. It's an award show run by the Griffith Regional Art Gallery. You can see a piece below - it's called Capsule I. So if you're in the vicinity this Thursday night, pop in for the opening! Have a drink for me cos unfortunately I won't be there.

Wednesday, August 4, 2010

I'm looking forward to this one. The next show at Gallery Funaki with new work by Emma Price (left) and David Neale. See you at the opening? Tuesday 10th of August, 6 - 8pm.

a distant relative perhaps?

I came across this quite by accident. A distant relative perhaps? Well although the resemblance may not be immediately obvious, the title of the show has me convinced.

but wait, there's more

Selected Clones from the Arnie series, 2009
Capsule II, mild steel, copper, silver, HIPS, stainless, 2009
Capsule I, mild steel, HIPS, pigment, stainless, 2009
The Island, mild steel, silver, HIPS, 2009

It seems the blog police only allow 5 images per post, so here is my encore.

I made two distinct bodies of work.  One grew from a fascination with Arnold Schwarzenegger; the man, the myth, the mystery; need I go on?  So much more could be said but I really feel as if the time has passed -that idea was so 2009! The other was very much sci-fi based, as you can probably gather.  If you'd like further extrapolation, just yell (email may be more effective).

and back in 2009.....

Clones from Schwarzenegger Regalia Series, HIPS, pigment, 2009
Schwarzenegger Regalia Series, cast bronze, fine gold, 2009
(Awkward) Communication Device, mild steel, 2009
Cover shot for the catalogue
Cornucopia group show, opening night, Nov 2009, some of my work
I finally got my hands on the shots of some of my work from the second half of last year.  And the end of year group show.  I know it's six months after the fact but I didn't have a blog then dummies!  (Maybe I'm the dummy.)
